How close are the Luberon & the Alpilles?

Not everybody realises how close the regions are. Here we are standing on top of the Alpilles on Sunday morning looking across to the Luberon, with Mont Ventoux and the Dentelles in the background. Ermmm ... Real Provence!

In a secret location ....

Somewhere in the Luberon emerges the face of ........
Spookey stuff huh?

I've been meaning to tell you about this problem

But which village?

Under a sheltering sky

And I couldn't resist adding this one. We're still getting the occasional small storm even in June making for these dramtic colours.

We live in Lavender colour!

As I said yesterday the colour is almost there. But here's a "Real" tip as soon as the plant is at it's most colourful that's the time it will be harvested as it will yield the most oil.
.... And I forgot about my own tip! I was going to show you the most vivid field of almost incandescent indigo/purple lavender just a stones throw from us and the blighters cut it before I got there! Drat and double drat.
Another "Real" tip, take your long lens with you, it makes it easier to centre the colour.
Should that be colour or color for you lot?

Breaking News - Lavender colour almost there

Is it me, or does the lavender seem to be coming into full colour earlier and earlier. A few fields away from us we have a photographers dream. I’ll post some better shots in a day or so but as you can see it really is almost there.

Luberon hot spot

Just watching the world go by at a cafe in the centre of Roussillon. The reds and oranges of the ochre painted houses in this lovely old village just ooze the summer warmth. Just perfect for a refeshing beer or a glass of local rosé.

Les Platanes

Another "Real" secret gem, right in the middle of Apt. Restaurant Les Platanes, 13 place Jules Ferry. A shaded garden makes the perfect setting for summer dining.
