Its' almost lavender time in Provence. The fields are beginning to show their colour and it will soon be a carpet of purple and mauves in the Luberon valley. This field near the pretty village of Roussillon in the Luberon valley is already a popular photo stop!

It feels like summer already at the seaside
A beautiful sunny Sunday in Bandol on the Mediterranean coast. Exotic flowers in bloom, the boats at their winter moorings in the harbour under the bluest of skies - except for the one which at some time obviously suffered a stormy night on the coast and ended up on the beach!

Le Géant de Provence
Mont Ventoux is a mythical mountain to the
Provencals. From all around southern Provence
it appears repeatedly on the horizon with its white peak beck oning tantalisingly in the distance. The mountain
has inspired poets, writers, painters, photographers, climbers and cyclists
with the ascent of the mountain on the Tour de France one of the most gruelling
parts of the race.
The views from the summit are unsurpassed with one of the broadest panoramic views in Europe. To the north the foothills of the Alps, to the west the Rhone valley and the Cevennes beyond, and to the south the plain of the Camargue and the Mediterranean.
Here with its bare limestone summit covered in a light covering of early winter snow.

Shop. shop, shop
Its just a delight pottering around the shops in Provence for those perfect holiday gifts or something to take home as a great holiday souvenir. Whether its local pottery, interestingly different lamps, or even a miniature olive tree, and of course there is always the excellent local wine.

Moulinsard
We've said good-bye to a couple of our favourite houses this year as the owners retire from house letting but good news as we have been fortunate to be able add Le Moulinsard to our portfolio.

A perfect Luberon villa, well maintained and very contemporary. It's three bedrooms with own pool. And lots of availability still left for the summer. Quite a find!

More Marseille secrets
The Vallon d'Auffes. This little fishing port nestling beneath the coast road of the Corniche is a delightful spot and home to two of the best bouillabaisse restaurants in Marseille. Chez Fonfon overlooks the little inlet, L'Epuisette sits at the end of the inlet overlooking the Mediterranean. Either will give you the true taste of that wonderful fish dish for which Marseille is world renowned.
Or if you are in the mood for just a casual lunch by the waterside, book one of the outdoor tables at Chez Jeannot the pizza restaurant at the top of the little bay.
